Villa Magna Mare

The photographic challenge

Villa Magna Mare has several distinct outdoor spaces: the pool, dining pavilion, garden hot tub and terraces. The photographs need to explain their relationship to the house rather than present them as separate features. Indoors, different furnishings and colours give the rooms individual characters. I aim for consistency across those changes, with the views and brighter surfaces balanced against the warmer interior materials.

My approach

The outdoor dining photograph introduces the villa through a place where the house and sea view meet. The table gives the landscape a foreground and a sense of use. Wider pool photographs describe the facade and terraces, while an overhead view makes the arrangement of water, gardens and buildings more direct.

The hot tub and garden photographs bring the selection to another scale. Stone walls, planting and the hills beyond place those spaces within the property's setting. The garden staircase adds a transition between areas that can be harder to understand from one overall exterior view.

Inside, the living room's fireplace and white sofa give the room a quiet structure. The sitting and dining room introduces a warmer wall treatment, while the bedrooms bring different colours and artwork into the collection. I retain these individual choices and use controlled perspective to keep the rooms clear.

The sunlit bedroom opening to a sea-view balcony is especially useful in connecting the interior with the setting. The bathroom provides a closer account of fittings and integrated light. These photographs complement the broader views without repeating their purpose.

At sunset and after dark, the outdoor spaces read differently. The illuminated pool, dining pavilion and garden hot tub each reveal another aspect of the same arrangement. I use that change in atmosphere to complete the sequence while keeping the architecture familiar.

The result

The photographs bring Villa Magna Mare's interiors, gardens and sea-facing spaces into one account of the property in the Peloponnese, Greece. For owners and managers, the selection offers both practical spatial information and supporting atmosphere. My architectural and interior approach to villa photography aims for that balance, with the property's own materials and light giving the collection its character.
