PROJECT STORY
A sea-facing house, in daylight and after dark.
The photographic challenge
The house opens towards a bright coastal outlook, with pale interiors and shaded garden spaces offering different levels of light. The photographic consideration is how to keep that openness visible without letting the view overpower the architecture. The pool, garden pavilion and house also need to read as connected spaces. I use different viewpoints to explain those relationships rather than relying on a single wide exterior photograph.
My approach
The poolside view introduces the sea-facing setting. Loungers and the pool edge provide a foreground, with the water and horizon extending beyond. Other outdoor photographs give attention to the dining tables, garden and shaded pavilion. Each shows a different part of the property's outdoor living, while retaining the house as a point of reference.
Inside, the living and dining areas continue the pale palette of the exterior. Wide openings towards the terrace connect the furnishings with the sea view. I keep the vertical lines controlled and the room's depth visible so that the photograph describes the architecture as well as its atmosphere.
Pendant lights and built-in seating give the open-plan rooms their own character. The bedroom introduces a quieter scale, with dark timber beams and sheer curtains bringing contrast to the white surfaces. These differences matter: a coherent collection should feel consistent without making every room look identical.
The night photographs return attention to the pool and garden. Illumination reveals the facade and planting, while a view from the pavilion changes the foreground. The moon and darker surroundings give the exterior a different context from the daytime photographs. I include that progression to show another side of spaces the viewer already understands.
Across the series, the balance remains between architectural information and the natural feeling of the setting.
The result
The photographs present this private villa near Chalkida, Greece, through its rooms, outdoor spaces and evening character. For owners and design professionals, that range supports a fuller introduction to the property than a collection centred only on the pool. My villa and interior photography focuses on accurate perspective, light and the connections between spaces, with the residence's identity and precise address kept private.
