PROJECT STORY
A consistent view of two distinct interiors.
The photographic challenge
Each of these two apartments has an indoor jacuzzi, with blue illumination and a foliage wall that gives the bathing area a very different mood from the rooms around it. My priority is to present that feature within the accommodation, rather than letting it dominate every photograph. The collection also needs to remain coherent across two interiors, while allowing their individual arrangements to be understood.
My approach
I use views between the bedrooms, living areas and glazed jacuzzi spaces to explain the layout. Looking from one area towards another gives the viewer useful information about the accommodation in downtown Athens. It also places the more distinctive features within a room that has a clear scale and purpose.
The apartments share a visual language of pale column forms, timber flooring, grey sofas, green upholstery and dark kitchen cabinetry. I keep these colours consistent across the selection. Round tables and sculptural bedside pieces introduce variation without breaking that continuity.
The jacuzzi photographs show the blue light, planting treatment and glass partitions together with nearby seating. Other compositions look towards a hanging wicker chair or back into the lounge. These changes of direction help the viewer understand where the feature sits in the apartment.
The bedrooms offer a quieter pace. White linen, open clothing rails and the relationship to bathroom doorways give each room a practical clarity. A detail of the decorative column wall draws attention to the design at a closer scale. The dining arrangements and furnishings bring a human presence without needing people in the photographs.
Throughout the series, I use controlled verticals and a natural treatment of the surfaces. The pale walls should retain shape, the timber should feel warm, and the blue lighting should remain part of the scene rather than colouring everything around it.
The result
Presented as one project, the photographs connect both penthouses through their shared character while explaining their living and bathing spaces. For accommodation owners and managers, that balance helps a prospective guest understand more than an individual amenity. My interior and hospitality photography in Athens combines clear spatial information with the atmosphere that makes each property distinctive.
