PROJECT STORY

Making the sea view part of the interior.

The photographic challenge

At Zoe's Sea View, the outlook is central to the property, but the interior still has to feel like the main subject when I photograph a room. The visual consideration is the balance between daylight, the view and the furnishings. Styling adds another layer: textiles, plants and table arrangements should support the room's character, with enough restraint that the accommodation remains easy to understand.

My approach

I follow the connection between the living area, dining space, kitchen and balcony. Wider compositions show those relationships, while the piano, fireplace and seating give the apartment its individual character. The sea appears through the openings as part of the room, rather than being separated into a photograph of the view alone.

This project in Pylos, in the Peloponnese, was created in collaboration with an interior designer and stylist. The apartment was staged specifically for the photography. That collaboration is visible in the selection of fabrics, greenery, decorative pieces and prepared arrangements. I use those details to bring a personal scale into the photographs, while keeping the architecture and layout clear.

The bedrooms ask for a quieter treatment. White and grey bedding, navy accents and blue surfaces give each view a consistent palette. Compositions towards a window or balcony door retain the relationship with the coast; closer views of towels and a reflection in the dressing-table mirror add variety. The bathroom is included in the same visual language, with the plants and linen complementing the fittings.

The evening photographs return to familiar rooms as the atmosphere changes. Warm decorative lights, the lit fireplace and candles give the interiors a different emphasis. On the balcony, the hanging chair and seating stay connected to the sea, first at sunset and then after dark.

I want the sequence to move naturally between spatial information and the feeling of spending time in the apartment. That is where styling and careful photographic composition work together.

The result

The collection presents Zoe's Sea View as accommodation with a distinct setting and a coherent interior character. For owners and managers, the wider views explain the spaces and the closer photographs offer supporting material for their presentation. My hospitality and interior photography in Greece combines that practical clarity with a warm, natural approach. Styling can be included in a bespoke photography proposal when it suits the property and its intended image use.
