PROJECT STORY
Brand identity, from the counters to the details.
The photographic challenge
Illuminated product panels, mirrored surfaces, glossy navy finishes and gold-toned details all ask for attention in this beauty space. My priority is to make the counters and displays easy to read while retaining that visual richness. The collection needs to explain the interior at a wider scale and then show how the products and brand details contribute to its identity.
My approach
I begin with a frontal view of the main beauty area. Gold-toned display structures frame the central counter, while the Estée Lauder lettering establishes the brand. Pale flooring and light worktops provide a quieter foundation for the deeper blue surfaces. The stools and mirrors also help explain how the counters are arranged.
Angled viewpoints introduce depth between the foreground displays and the rear shelving. Repeated verticals, mirrored panels and gold-toned edges connect the different parts of the space. I keep those relationships visible so the interior remains understandable even when it contains many small details.
The lighting is part of the design. Bright panels draw attention to products, and warmer light beneath the counters defines their edges. In the photographs, the surrounding surfaces need to retain their shape alongside those sources. Reflections belong to the finishes, but they should support the room rather than distract from it.
A closer photograph of the makeup display shifts the scale. Foundation bottles, palettes and lipsticks form a measured arrangement beneath product imagery. It gives the collection a useful change of pace, moving from the room to the way merchandise is presented.
The final wider view places the fragrance counter and tall display column within the beauty hall. This adds the relationship between the individual brand presence and the surrounding retail environment at Hondos Center in Glyfada.
The result
The six photographs bring the overall interior and its product displays into a coherent commercial collection. For retail designers and beauty brands, the wider views explain the space while the closer frames describe its lighting, finishes and identity. My commercial photography work in Athens, Greece, aims to communicate that combination clearly, with controlled perspective and a consistent treatment of colour.
