Villa Paula

The photographic challenge

Villa Paula's setting is closely connected to the water. The photographs need to explain that relationship without allowing the coastal view to become the subject of every frame. The house, balconies and waterfront deck each have a different scale and atmosphere. Indoors, pale furniture and a white timber roof ask for enough tonal detail to retain the room's shape and material character.

My approach

I introduce the property from above, where the house, waterfront deck and pebble beach can be understood together. The ground-level photographs then move closer to the spaces beside the sea. A hammock beneath a timber pergola and blue lounge seating on the deck give the setting a personal scale.

The balcony creates a transition towards the interior, with trees and the water visible beyond the furniture. Inside, white armchairs and grey sofas sit beneath exposed roof beams. Blue-framed doors connect the rooms with the view. I use those openings to show where the interior meets the outdoors, while retaining enough of the room to explain its proportions.

The dining table, woven pendant lights and fireplace offer a different reading of the same interior. Closer attention to the white hallway, timber floor and woven accessories introduces texture without breaking the sequence's continuity. These photographs show the smaller design choices alongside the larger architectural views.

The beach photograph gives the collection a pause, bringing the viewer back to the immediate setting. The evening views then return to the waterfront deck, with lanterns around the seating and loungers. That change in light brings a more intimate character to spaces already introduced during the day.

For me, the aerial view and the close deck photographs are complementary. One explains the property in its surroundings; the other shows how that setting is experienced at ground level.

The result

The collection presents Villa Paula through its architecture and its relationship with the sea in the Peloponnese, Greece. For owners and managers, it provides both an overall introduction and more personal views of the living spaces. My villa photography approach combines architectural clarity with warm, natural atmosphere, giving the property a consistent presentation across different scales and times of day.
